Xonsh: Python-powered, cross-platform, Unix-gazing shell

XonSH has been my main shell for a solid two years now. The concept is awesome, but unfortunately it has many flaws. * Nesting bash and python scripts makes performance terrible compared to using python's subprocess module directly. This is a super cool idea, I'm surprised there isn't ambiguity in parsing shell commands vs python. For example if a user types "a | b", do they want to run process a and pipe it into b, or are they trying to bitwise or variables a and b?

I just started using this shell today, and it's quite fun being able to script things in just Python, which I find easier and more intuitive, over bash, of which I can never remember the syntax of the most basic functionalities. I'm hoping some other HNers find this useful as well :)
