About this project
I built HN Hall of Fame because Hacker News has a long memory, but the site itself makes that memory hard to see.
What I am trying to preserve
A good link can return for years: submitted by different people, discussed by a different generation of readers, and occasionally rediscovered long after its first front-page run. This site folds those submissions into one public history so that repeated interest is visible.
The Hall is intentionally rule-based. It records independent resubmission, time, and repeated breakout response. It is not a list of links I personally endorse, and the ordering score never decides membership.
An evolving archive
URL identity, redirects, archives, and old web pages are messy. I publish the evidence behind each item, keep the methodology readable, and review corrections before changing a record. If an item points to the wrong place, has been merged incorrectly, or shows a misleading screenshot, use the report link on its page.
The current release is built from public Hacker News data and a reviewed publication catalog. The heartbeat in the footer shows how current that data is.
