Just installed it. First impressions: * The good - It is very responsive and smooth - Install just following instructions described - F-droid works - Apps installed from F-droid works - Full screen videos from Newpipe play smoothly * The bad - Had to enable "invert colors" to get correct colors - Mouse scroll is inverted - Can't choose correct layout of physical keyboard because android thinks there's no physical keyboard connected - Android gestures on the desktop are annoying…

Surprised to see this on the frontpage - it's a well known piece of software. It's unfortunate that there are no Google-vended images (e.g. the generic system image) that run on Waydroid. Typing my password into random ROMs from the internet sketches me out. https://source.android.com/docs/core/tests/vts/gsi

Does Waydroid still work with modern kernels? I've recently tried to run Anbox on Arch with Linux 6 and the necessary kernel modules caused crashes and kernel panics on boot. I made the mistake of buying Nvidia hardware so Wayland is incredibly unstable for me, but perhaps it's worth investigating how to get Wayland working well if Waydroid works better than Anbox.

Sadly useless unless you stick to Gnome or KDE. Those of us who use the other desktops, such as Mate, XFCE, LXDE, Budgie, etc etc do not have a Wayland server to make use of this application. The earlier version which worked on regular xorg Anbox seems to have suffered serious bitrot as its developer focuses on Anbox Cloud, at Canonical's behest. It's sad to me that this is the state of affairs, where Android apps can run on Windows…
