How powerful is the cheapest microcontroller from the list of supported in comparison to John Maccarty's computer when he first time run the eval function? Did he desire this CPU performance in comparison to his IBM 704 at least for some aspects? He had 18KB of RAM and a multi-MB disk so probably he would enjoy a few orders of magnitude less ping for anything.
