Suckless and cat-v exposed me to the Unix philosophy in the early 10s and it instantly resonated with me. Trollish contrarianism was at least part of the appeal, but the fundamentals made sense. I was not from a CS background, but realized that I could write software too if I kept things single purpose and leaned on the existing ecosystem. I probably owe my current career to these cheeky cunts. dwm is still chugging along on my underpowered OpenBSD laptop…
