HN comment orderHmm, not sure it's for me (a bit too much hacker) but I'd definitely like a highly customizable, module based browser with a pure shell by default. Something like Visual Studio Code but with less cruft from the get go. I've never thought about it until I saw this! Now I'm really irked about there not being a solid, mature browser based on extensibility. Where the base is basically an address bar and history awareness (i.e. back/forward) and even bookmarks…
Nyxt seems amazing, but it's hard for me to imagine using a browser without Ublock Origin. I understand that it doesn't really make sense for everyone to support webextensions, and it's a huge amount of extra work, but it's just a huge barrier to adoption. It's hard to trust the smaller browsers to keep me private online if there isn't something that gives me that same level of control over blocking. And there's a huge adblocking community built around this…
I don't know, I feel like some of the more pressing features of this browser are already provided with add-ons such as Vimium. And I would really like to see this on a Firefox back-end / compatible with the likes of uBlock origin. I don't want to have another chrome derivative that has a fancy new UI to boast.
What are the key features of nyxt that I can't obtain through installing a browser extension like surfingkeys?
