HN comment orderI'm relieved they didn't change the documentation. Hard to improve on perfection. https://docs.racket-lang.org/pkg/index.html Also, I chuckled a bit at the "Jet Fueled" tagline. Racket's green threads operate with a "fuel" which gets consumed over time, at which point it yields to another thread. I think the metaphor was a happy accident rather than an intentional nerdy reference, but still.
I am happy to see Racket make it to the front page. After using mostly Common Lisp for research programming since 1982, I now more often turn to Racket. There are parts of Racket I don’t like, which is most everything *NOT* the compiler, package management system, GUI IDE, Emacs bindings, fun language to use. I don’t care for much of the programming language research parts of the ecosystem - that is the parts that the computer scientist professors who…

PLT Scheme is practical in its library design, flexible in its reader, meticulous in its documentation and fast as an execution engine. Making a language fast and well-documented is a thankless task. It's nothing short of a herculean accomplishment for these guys to come out of left field with such a…
I don't want to be that guy, but I think the design needs work. Especially since the title is saying "has a new design". I wonder what it used to look like. It looks like a nice piece of technology, but like the other guy said, the website is too busy and I don't know where to look at. It took me a minute to find the github link. It's almost like it's hidden purposely. Also the "Books" section is…
