HN comment order@dang, it looks like all comments from an hour+ ago on this article have been deleted. They were OK comments, is there a bug?
An example of something to keep in mind with this technique is that you might actually end up causing the browser to render a different font than either you or the user intended. For a practical example: Environment - Latest Firefox on Windows 10. - Manually installed fonts 'Cascadia Code' and 'JetBrains Mono NL'. - Firefox default 'monospace' font set to 'JetBrains Mono NL'. Setting `font-family: monospace;` would end up rendering 'JetBrains Mono NL' - the user-configured default monospace font…
This is really well done. Paragraph view really helps to visualize it. CSS Font Stack [1] used to be the place for this, but that site hasn't changed in decades. The one piece missing for me is the percentage adoption by platform (like in the above referenced site). Regardless, this is still replacing CSS Font Stack for me.
