I have a design degree and have spent time roughing out kerning pairs in FontForge, so while I'm sure I'm not the most qualified person in the world, I do have a bit of cred here. Kerning is hard, not just because of the skill you need to eyeball things well but because there is so much variance to account for. Very tedious. Your periodic reminder that bad kerning distracted Donald Knuth from TAOCP for a decade or so, setting our industry back countless person-millennia. Do not trifle with kerning. It’s a different kind of Turing tarpit for software engineers.

I did much better this time than I did the last time this was posted. The trick is to pay attention to the negative space more than the letterforms themselves; if you visualize the black pixels as the meaningful content, it's usually straightforward to see where things are out of balance.

It's very cool. I got a final score of 94/100. I was less good at the beginning because I didn't get that by clicking elsewhere you could make the whole word white again rather than having a letter blue. Having the whole word white helps a lot to see potential kerning problems :).
