In case it's helpful, here's how I use hammerspoon: * As a replacement for the classic caffeine app. [1] * To provide shortcuts for window managements. [2] * To shutdown bluetooth on sleep. Otherwise, devices I have setup to pair with both my mac and phone will tend to pair with the mac, even though it's asleep. Since we've hit the front page of HN again, I've just released Hammerspoon 0.9.92, which contains a few fixes and some additions, but mostly refactored a significant amount of internal project structure to allow our build system to be replaced with something that isn't 5 years old and terrible. As a result, it's possible that something broke which we didn't find in our internal testing. Please file GitHub issues :) Happy Christmas y'all!

I've got a simple USB watching script (with hammerspoon) to lock my computer when I remove my yubikey. I just yank the yubikey and go. I also have it iMessage me when it's removed. In case someone else grabs it when I'm not near it. I also have it wake up the screen when I plug it in, combined with Knock I can get in and out of my computer quickly and easily.

I'm one of the maintainers of Hammerspoon. For some context, this is a fork of an app that's been posted to HN before - Mjolnir. We wanted to take things in a slightly more integrated direction than sdegutis, so we are building on his excellent work and branching out on our own. Massive kudos to him for giving us a solid starting point! Happy to answer questions, here or on #hammerspoon (Freenode), or deal with any github issues you care…
