Of course, no post like this is complete without OISC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_instruction_set_computer (Then, there's my contribution: NISC -- the Null Instruction Set Computer! It's a revolutionary architecture, in that die sizes and TDP can be scaled down, seemingly arbitrarily, with no loss in functionality. In fact, NISC can transcend the solid state entirely, and be implemented directly on the quantum foam of the vacuum! Another benefit: NISC machines are entirely immune to all buffer overflow and…

Back in the time of FIDO, I've accepted the challenge to crack a program (find a correct password) that more or less consisted of a loop to simulate three-address MOV instruction. The loop jump address sometimes changed for some effectful operations like printing or for optimizations like executing addition. It took me about four hours to find the correct password. In the course of there three hours I wrote 1) an executor that used i386 debug registers to look for…

Oh boy. If anyone here is coming across Chris Domas (the author of this github) for the first time, you're in for a treat! Some of his talks on youtube are absolutely mind-blowing: DEF CON 26 - Christopher Domas - GOD MODE UNLOCKED Hardware Backdoors in redacted x86: https://invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=jmTwlEh8L7g DEF CON 26 - Christopher Domas - The Ring 0 Facade Awakening the Processors Inner Demons: https://invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=XH0F9r0siTI
