HN comment order"Pseudocode edition [...] Python sources". This made me laugh more than it should have. As a side note, I uploaded the Python examples to Github for easier navigation: https://github.com/olalonde/ods-python
The book was written by Pat Morin, a prof at Carleton University in Canada, because other texts were too expensive. It's used to teach a first undergraduate class in data structures. He's open to any additions. Just fork the github project linked on the site.
I like that this exists, but I find myself bothered that all mentions of efficiency (that I saw at a quick skim) are based only on asymptotics of the storage space and number of operations per element as the number of elements goes to infinity without any mention of the constants involved. While this is standard for the theoretical side of computer science, it seems at odds with the emphasis on real working code. For example, (from what I saw)…
