>are we wayland yet? No, No I am not, because things I care about are broken, and all of the supposed improvements wayland offers simply don't bother me. I've tried it, yes it feels a little snappier sometimes, but that's not a huge priority for me, personally. X11 is fine.
Things that are broken for me in Wayland now: - Remote access - Screen capture - Font rendering is horrible - UrbanTerror (only game I play) has issues - X apps are blurry (DPI fixes don't work) It seems like Wayland is going to be one of the apps that are claimed to be the new thing but will forever be a WIP.
"Mostly" is correct, but some of the problems with Wayland are fundamental and will never be fixed.
