This is definitely the most reasonable case I've heard made from this argument, and it's changed my stance on the issue. That said, I feel the cryptography project handled this poorly. I never agreed with this. Who defines what is considered "weird"? Should all projects declare up-front that it only is designed to work on: - x86_64 and aarch64 - linux, darwin and windows - glibc (no musl) - binutils x.xx - ... ... where do you stop before you're defining an exact linux distribution? If it weren't for people building and using packages for architectures that are "unsupported", I should point out that there would be no good userspace support…
