HN comment orderOkay.. I'm a Model S owner and I love Tesla and I chuckled at the whole Insane mode and gave a bit of an amused snort at Ludicrous mode. This, however, really makes me wonder WTH is going on there: HEPA Air Filters "There are three modes: circulate with outside air, re-circulate inside air and a bioweapon defense mode that creates positive pressure inside the cabin to protect occupants." EDIT: Very fair points about driving by skunks or nasty smells…
People complaining about Elon's charisma are missing a lot of Tesla's history and brand. It has a very significant customer base that almost consider themselves part of the company (e.g. throwing parties for employees at a Tesla store). Part of the reason is because Elon Musk treats these events not as a marketing presentation but basically like someone showing off their latest creation to their family (a lot of customers are invited to the events). Also, Tesla is seeing awesome…
Is this the model that's supposed to be $30,000 and ship in 2015? I love Tesla's strategy of releasing a new model every 3 years for half the price of the previous model. Does this mean they will have a $15,000 model in 2018? That would be great. Starting with 2020 electric cars should start going mainstream, which is not too bad. I think many people wouldn't have expected this until 2050 (when we'd be really running out of oil)…
