Privacy

OrangeCrumbs is designed to be lightweight. We collect as little information as we can while keeping the site useful.

What we collect

• Email address, only if you subscribe to email updates.
• Basic anonymous session events, such as article or video views, shares, saves, mode changes, filter changes, and subscribe form events.
• Technical request data normally processed by hosting and security providers.

What we do not do

• We do not currently show ads.
• We do not currently use third-party ad trackers.
• We do not sell email addresses.
• We do not intentionally store raw IP addresses in the app analytics database.

If ads or third-party ad technology are added later, this policy will be updated before they are enabled.

Why we use this data

• To send the OrangeCrumbs digest, product updates, and occasional related project notes if you subscribe.
• To understand which articles, videos, and flows are useful.
• To protect the site from abuse and keep it running.

Email

If you subscribe, your email address and basic signup metadata may be stored in Cloudflare D1 and synced to EmailOctopus so we can send the digest, manage unsubscribes, and understand delivery issues. You can unsubscribe from any email or request deletion by emailing [email protected].

YouTube embeds

If you choose to watch a video inside OrangeCrumbs, the embedded YouTube player is loaded from YouTube. YouTube or Google may process technical request data according to their own policies.

Hosting and providers

The site uses Cloudflare and DigitalOcean for hosting, DNS, security, analytics, backups, and storing subscriber or usage data. EmailOctopus is used for email delivery and subscription management. These providers may process technical request data needed to serve the site, prevent abuse, deliver email, and keep the service reliable.
